Begin your adventure with the lush landscapes of Vitu Island. After breakfast, immerse yourself in local culture with a visit to a traditional village, where you’ll witness vibrant dance performances and sample local delicacies. Then, sail to the sunken volcanic caldera of Garove Island. Dive into its crystal-clear waters, teeming with marine life, or enjoy a thrilling sports fishing session. Cap the day with a scenic heli flight over the island, offering breathtaking views of this hidden paradise.

The day begins at the stunning Kimbe Peninsula, renowned for its extraordinary marine biodiversity. Start with a guided boat tour through lush rainforests, home to exotic wildlife. After lunch, dive into the vibrant waters of Kimbe Bay, or enjoy world-class sports fishing. The day ends with a heli flight over the peninsula, where you’ll marvel at the dramatic coastline and volcanic peaks.

This morning we arrive at the Duke of York Islands, besides learning about it’s rich history you’ll be able to head out on a snorkel expedition to discover the Japanese tanks in shallow island waters. Or take a ride in the ship’s helicopter for a stunning bird’s eye view of what was once described as the most beautiful town in the South Pacific, Rabaul. Perched on the edge of a magnificent natural harbour and surrounded by active volcanoes, in 1994, the town was smothered under a cloud of ash and now lies largely abandoned, however from the helicopter window, it’s a spectacular sight to see.

Begin with a trek to the base of Mount Tavurvur, one of Papua New Guinea’s most active volcanoes. Marvel at the rugged landscape shaped by its eruptions before delving into Rabaul’s rich wartime history. Explore the extensive Japanese tunnels and historic sites, and reflect on the area’s significant role in World War II. End the day with a peaceful cruise around Simpson Harbour, taking in the tranquil views.

Immerse yourself in the rich culture of Tavalo, where you’ll be welcomed with a traditional sing-sing ceremony. Explore the village and its surrounding gardens, learning about the Tolai people’s deep connection to the land. As the day ends, enjoy a farewell feast with the villagers, sharing stories under a starlit sky.

Explore the untouched beauty of Gasmata with a guided tour of its remote beaches and historical sites. Then, sail to the nearby Ampul Island group, where you’ll find some of the best snorkeling and diving spots in the region. End the day with sunset drinks on a secluded beach, reflecting on the peacefulness of this hidden gem.

Start your day with a cultural immersion in Waku village, where you’ll witness traditional dances and learn about the local way of life. Continue your journey to the Arawe Islands, a paradise for snorkeling and diving. End the day with a beach bonfire, enjoying a feast of freshly caught seafood as you share the day’s adventures.

Fly over the legendary Kokoda Track, gaining a unique perspective on this historic trail. Afterward, enjoy a luxurious heli picnic by the serene Embi Lakes, surrounded by lush rainforest. Explore the lakes’ calm waters, rich in biodiversity, before returning to your ship for a sunset sail away from the mainland.

Discover the majestic fiords of Cape Nelson, where towering cliffs and turquoise waters create a breathtaking landscape. Cruise through these narrow channels, keeping an eye out for wildlife, before a guided hike along the rugged coastline. Enjoy morning tea with panoramic views of the fiords, then return to your ship for an evening cruise as the sun sets over this remote wonderland.

Conclude your journey with a visit to Alotau, where the rich history and culture of Papua New Guinea come to life. Reflect on your extraordinary adventure as you prepare for your departure, carrying with you the memories of New Britain’s untamed beauty.
