Itinerary Highlights

Arrive at your designated check-in by 4:00pm, board Coral Discoverer, and settle into your stateroom. Explore the ship’s facilities before joining the Captain and Expedition Team on deck for Welcome Drinks as we depart Hobart at 5:00pm.

Experience Tasmania’s remote wilderness at Port Davey for the next two days, a World Heritage-listed haven of rugged peaks and serene inlets. Cruise the wild coastline, kayak sheltered bays, and hike Mt Beattie or Mt Milner for sweeping views. Visit Melaleuca Inlet, walk the Needwonee boardwalk, and spot rare Orange-bellied Parrots.

Discover Bruny Island’s dramatic Fluted Cape, spot endemic Bennett’s Wallabies amid dolerite cliffs. Learn about the region’s whaling past at Adventure Bay and view the ruins at past whaling station sites, including a trail to Grass Point.

Maria Island is a sanctuary for wildlife including wombats, pademelons, Cape Barren geese, and Forester kangaroos. Roam through Darlington’s convict-era architecture. Visit the Painted Cliffs and choose between the Fossil Cliffs walk or the Reservoir circuit for enriching exploration.

Walk the renowned track to Wineglass Bay and enjoy its sweeping crescent beach. Explore the granite Hazards, discover unique flora and fauna, and swim in clear waters. Cruise past Schouten Island and take in Freycinet’s pink-hued cliffs and coastal landscapes shaped over 400 million years.

Visit the World Heritage-listed Port Arthur Historic Site with expert guides. If conditions allow, journey to nearby Fortescue Bay to hike the Cape Hauy Track or swim in its pristine waters. Admire rugged sea cliffs and learn the stories of Tasmania’s convict and maritime past.

Our Tasmania adventure concludes in Hobart this morning as we bid farewell to new-found friends, the Master and crew, disembarking at 8:00am. A complimentary transfer is provided to CBD hotels, or the airport is included.

Embrace the unexpected – it’s part of the adventure. This itinerary is a guide. We adjust plans based on weather, tides, wildlife, and opportunities we encounter. Remote communities may be unavailable due to local customs. Flexibility makes expeditions special.
