  • Explore World Heritage Shark Bay with visits to Francois Peron National Park, to discover the history and abundant wildlife of this region.

  • Discover World-Heritage listed Ningaloo Reef with a snorkel at Turquoise Bay, and explore Cape Range National Park on a tour from Exmouth.

  • Discover sites of cultural significance to Indigenous Australians, including the Dampier Archipelago petroglyphs, with expert interpretation.

  • Learn about the coast’s fascinating maritime history – the wrecks of the Barque Stefano, the Tryall near the Montebellos, and the Batavia at the Abrolhos.

  • Birdwatch at the Montebello Islands, known for their large populations of nesting seabirds, and spot numerous bird species throughout your voyage.

Broome departures transfer from the Mangrove Hotel at 3:30 pm for 4:00 pm boarding and 5:00 pm departure. Fremantle departures board Victoria Quay berth C at 8:00am for 9:00am sailing. Settle into your cabin and explore ship facilities before Captain’s Welcome drinks.

Relax on deck with Guest Lecturer presentations, workshops and demonstrations.

Explore islands that contrast brightly with turquoise waters and view petroglyphs under the cultural guidance of the Murujuga Land and Sea Rangers. Twenty-five are nature reserves that protect both Aboriginal and European heritage. Named after William Dampier, who visited aboard the Cygnet in 1699, the Yaburara people left thousands of rock engravings, shell middens, and stone arrangements.

The ‘Montes’ archipelago delights birdwatchers, supporting over 1% of the world’s fairy and roseate tern populations. Alpha and Trimouille Islands hosted three British atomic tests in the 1950s. Visit the Ground Zero plinth, where nature has reclaimed the nuclear site. Wildlife includes the rare rufous hare wallaby.

Located 10 nautical miles off Northwest Cape, these islands showcase spectacular reef systems with colourful soft corals, abundant turtles, schools of fish, and manta rays. Dive sites include swim-throughs and ledges where nudibranchs, eels and angelfish hide in protected waters.

Ningaloo’s narrow continental shelf brings deep waters, reefs, and coastal communities close together, creating massive arrays of marine life. Today we take a bus tour to Cape Range National Park and have the opportunity to snorkel at Turquoise Bay.

Explore Australia’s first Western Australian UNESCO World Heritage site from 1991. This region showcases colourful landscapes, rare flora and fauna, as well as 35% of Australia’s bird species. Visit Dirk Hartog Island and Francois Peron National Park and walk the Wanamalu Trail at Cape Peron, conditions permitting.

Snorkel scenic beaches, spot tammar wallabies, skinks and endemic Abrolhos dwarf bearded dragons. Cruise past the Pidgeon Islands, a coral-lagooned outpost steeped in both rich marine life and fishing heritage. Conditions permitting, visit Beacon Island, the site of a tragic event that occurred 400 years ago during the Batavia mutiny.

Visit Little Sandy Island’s sea lion colony, the largest in the Abrolhos Islands. Australian sea lions love swimming and playing with snorkelers in protected waters. Later, snorkel vibrant coral reefs at Squid Hole, Anemone Lump or Morley Island, where marine life thrives in clear waters.

Visit Liddon Pearl Farm and crayfishing operations on Post Office Island. Learn about pearl cultivation, including different shells and categories, from families working in the Abrolhos waters for four generations. Snorkel blue holes from the jetty where coral formations create underwater cathedrals.

Enjoy a relaxing day at sea filled with onboard activities, inspiring talks, and opportunities to mingle with fellow guests.

Fremantle arrival at 7:30am for 8:00am disembarkation with transfers to CBD hotels or airport included. Broome arrival for 8:00am disembarkation with transfers included. Visit Cable Beach or explore the historic streets of Chinatown before departure.

Embrace the unexpected – it’s part of the adventure. This itinerary is a guide. We adjust plans based on weather, tides, wildlife, and opportunities we encounter. Remote communities may be unavailable due to local customs. Flexibility makes expeditions special.
